Sad News From Brazil

"Witnesses said the band Gurizada Fandangueira launched fireworks that exploded into the venue’s foam soundproofing and ignited the fast-moving flames."   "The survivors described how they initially couldn't get out of the main doors, which were the only entrance and exit, because security guards blocked the path."

Sigh.  I had hoped the Station Fire in Rhode Island, which I wrote about less than a month ago, would be the last time we would hear a tragic and completely preventable story like this.

Below, via Brooklyn Vegan, is apparently a video of the same band using pyro in a different performance. 

Update 1/29--I noticed that if you watch full screen, it looks like the pyro tech is pouring water on the spent pyro, and then striking the cabling.
