Speaking About Networking at PLASA Focus in Stamford:

I'll be doing a talk called, "What is a Network and Why Should I Care?" at the inaugural PLASA focus show in Stamford, CT on November 12.  Should be fun!

Here's the description:

Do you keep hearing about TCP/UDP/IP? Ethernet? Full-duplex switches? Broadcast Storms? We're show people, why should we care about this IT stuff? Because these networking technologies are increasingly forming the common backbone for lighting, sound, video, scenery and other entertainment control systems. This introductory session will explain the basics of networks and speculate a bit about where we are heading and what it's important to know now and for the future.
