David Byrne on the Impact of Spaces on Music

David Byrne gave this great talk at the TED 2010 conference.  It's worth 15 minutes of your time:

Byrne makes a number of excellent points, and has a very enlightened perspective on the acoustics of performance venues that I have found (unfortunately) all too lacking amongst musicians and composers.  Byrne's points also relate in interesting ways to the talk I gave at World Voice Day called There is No Perfect Sound.  You can watch my 30 minute talk here.

Hey, Just found your blog. I completely agree with your four rules on sounding good in small venues. I post about this type of subject and have just started my own blog that touches on this issue. I cant comment on your other posts so Im commenting here. Its going to take me a while to get through them all.

Thanks, Dan
