Who Needs a Tone Generator When You Have a Bird?

One of my students, Courtley Dennis, sent me this very cool video from the awesome Cornell Lab of Ornithology  (via National Geographic)

The male club-winged manakin bird makes a 1500 Hz tone with its wings!  Now, just hold that bird up to your microphone and you have an all natural tone generator.
