Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and into Mississippi

Continuing my photo safari...

We left New Orleans after New Years:

And headed north into Louisiana across Lake Pontchartrain:

Passed a big fire:

Stopped in Baton Rouge:

Drove across an amazing causeway through bayous:

Browsing Wikipedia (mobile internet is great!) I found the Diamond Grill in Alexandria where we had a nice dinner:

Crazy store next door:

Flag deer:

The next morning we headed north to see my old friend Lee Ellen, with a brief stop in Natchitoches:

Lee Ellen recommended the amazing Herby-K's in Shreveport (home of the shrimp buster) for lunch:

This place was in an interesting neighborhood:

We met Lee Ellen and stood on three states at once (Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas--my first time in Arkansas!):

We had a nice visit with Lee Ellen in Atlanta, Texas, and then headed back across through Arkansas:

We crossed back into Louisiana, had some amazing BBQ that Lee Ellen provided us, crossed into Mississippi (my first time here!) and ended up in Vicksburg for the night:

We heading out again this morning, not sure yet where we will end up tonight....
