Paddling Tropical Storm Hanna

Tropical storm Hanna spared my final rooftop BBQ of the season last night, but not my trip to the Renaissance Faire for today. So, with flash floods and sustained 20 MPH winds, what else could I do?  Kayak, of course!  My friend Bonnie and I went out on Jamaica Bay this afternoon and had a great time!

Hi John

You look like you were really moving fast on your way back. Did you have your GPS running. I'm curious how fast?

We were supposed to be doing a class at the lake around that time. Most of the students didn't show up.

Minh, Alexis, Pete and I went out several times doing rolling sessions. The most memorable was when it was really coming down hard. It was like rolling in a lukwarm shower.

I think I was in 4 of the rolling sessions over the weekend and one 5 hour skills class. What a physicaly tiring weekend.
We really polished up our rolls and some gained new rolls. The stufents learned lots of new skills in the class and I am very sore this morning:-)
