Perseids Meteor Shower

A friend and I stayed up too late last night (this morning) to watch the meteor shower.  Even here in Brooklyn, we had a pretty good view and saw quite a few meteors. She brought over her 6" telescope and we looked at Jupiter, and, amazingly, we could see its moons and even the stripes on its surface!  I had no idea you could see that kind of detail.  I couldn't get a shot of that but I did get the shot of the moon by just holding my camera up to the viewfinder.
